What is Kratom Used For
This amazing plant does so much but most people haven’t even heard of it. However it is gaining more popularity as time goes on. Unfortunately this has resulted in major scrutiny from the FDA. There are massively false accusations against kratom regarding it’s safety and you really have to do your homework to find the truth.
Kratom traditionally has been used for it’s psychoactive properties in it’s native counties Malaysia and Thailand. Workers and laborers would chew the fresh leaves for a stimulating and numbing feeling to help get through the work day.
What is in Kratom
Kratom has many alkaloids including mitragynine (Reported in small doses to act as a stimulant, and in higher doses more opiate-like), Mitraphylline (Due to its structural similarity to mitragynine & 7-Hydroxymitragynine causes effects on mu and Delta opiate receptors), and 7-Hydroxymitragynine (Which studies have suggested is the main reason for the opioid effect of Kratom). It’s important to note that Kratom does not get your “high” and is not an opiate itself, only that it affects the opiate receptors and therefore may have potential to help those addicted to hard substances.
